Jasmine-Hope is a Nisga’a-Sri Lankan artist based in Chilliwack, BC, working with watercolour and gouache on paper. Her practice explores relationships within natural ecosystems, drawing on Indigenous teachings of interconnectedness and reciprocity that inform her sense of connection and belonging.

Focusing on local flora and fauna, her work reflects research into how species interact with each other and the land. By use of layered washes and intricate line work she creates compositions that prioritize feeling and emotion over fixed representation, inviting viewers into a slower way of seeing a species.

Alongside her studio work, she engages in land-based learning and has taught in forest school settings throughout the Fraser Valley, while continuing her studies at Emily Carr University. Her work offers a quiet space for reflection, encouraging deeper connection to place and the natural world.
