about the artist

i still remember walking into my second-grade classroom, the scent of pencil crayons in the air and bright paintings adorning the walls. my teacher took my timid hand and introduced me to a world of Beethoven, giant watercolour pucks, and stories woven with colour. she didn’t just teach us to paint white clouds on blue skies—she showed us how to lay tiny bricks on a countryside house and scatter delicate blooms across the grass. to this day, i am amazed that she matted each of our paintings in ornate frames, as if they belonged in a gallery. she was my favourite teacher, and she opened my eyes to a world of imagination, poetry, and wonder.

those childhood memories form the foundation of my artistic journey. since then, i’ve studied under instructors at Emily Carr University of Art & Design and through various online drawing schools. my sketchbooks are filled with layers of raw, messy charcoal, graphite, and pencil crayon. i’ve also had the joy of teaching children to bring their own visions to life, often outdoors, where Nature becomes part of the creative process.

today, my studio is a quiet nook in the back of the basement, shared with my husband, Greg, and his writing desk. we live in the mountains of British Columbia with our son, Leto, and our Aussie Shepherd, Lucy—breathing in the wild alpine air and exhaling its magic into everything we create. my work explores the interconnectedness of Nature, highlighting rare species and the delicate relationships between flora, fauna, and the landscapes they call home. i hope to inspire curiosity, reflection, and a deeper awareness of our place within the natural world.
